Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working with Precision Wellness & Nutrition Center.

Getting Started

What is a functional health coach and how is it different from a doctor?

A functional health coach works to identify and address the root causes of health challenges through lifestyle, nutrition, supplementation, and evidence-based protocols — rather than prescribing medications to manage symptoms. Ron Eccles is a retired Doctor of Chiropractic operating as a non-licensed health coach. He does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, but works alongside your medical team to optimize your health from a functional perspective.

Who is the ideal client for Precision Wellness?

Our ideal clients are men and women in their 50s, 60s, and 70s who are frustrated with conventional medicine's approach to their health. They may be struggling with weight gain, low energy, poor sleep, brain fog, or cardiovascular risk factors — and they want to address these issues at the root cause level, not just manage them with medications. Many come specifically for peptide therapy and fat loss, and discover a much deeper level of metabolic health optimization.

How do I get started?

The first step is a free 30-minute discovery call with Ron. During this call, you'll discuss your health history, current challenges, and goals. There's no obligation and no sales pressure — it's simply an opportunity to determine whether Precision Wellness is the right fit for you. You can book your call directly through our online booking system.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No referral is needed. You can book directly through our website. We do encourage you to keep your primary care physician informed of any health coaching program you're participating in, as we work best as a complement to your existing medical care, not a replacement.

Services & Protocols

What kind of lab testing do you use?

We use comprehensive functional lab panels that go far beyond standard annual bloodwork. This includes advanced lipid testing (particle size, LDL-P, ApoB), insulin and glucose metabolism markers, a full hormone panel, inflammatory markers (hs-CRP, homocysteine, fibrinogen), thyroid function, micronutrient status, and gut health markers. These tests provide a complete picture of your metabolic health that standard panels simply cannot offer.

What are peptides and are they safe?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signaling molecules in the body. They direct specific biological processes such as fat metabolism, muscle preservation, cellular repair, and growth hormone release. When used appropriately under proper guidance, peptides have an excellent safety profile. Ron will conduct a thorough health assessment before recommending any peptide protocol, and all protocols are carefully monitored and adjusted over time.

Do I need to follow a specific diet?

There is no single 'Precision Wellness diet.' Your nutritional protocol is entirely personalized based on your metabolic type, lab results, food sensitivities, lifestyle, and goals. Some clients do best with a low-carbohydrate approach; others thrive on a Mediterranean-style diet. Ron will work with you to design a dietary framework that is both metabolically effective and sustainable for your lifestyle.

How long does it take to see results?

Many clients notice improvements in energy, sleep quality, and mental clarity within the first 4–6 weeks. Significant changes in body composition, lab markers, and overall health typically become apparent within 3–6 months. Metabolic health optimization is a process, not a quick fix — but the results are lasting because they address the root causes rather than the symptoms.

Pricing & Logistics

How much does it cost?

Pricing varies based on the level of service and the specific protocols involved. We offer customizable plans to fit different budgets and needs. The best way to get accurate pricing information is to schedule your free discovery call, during which Ron can provide a personalized recommendation and associated costs. We believe that investing in your health now is far less expensive than managing chronic disease later.

Do you accept insurance?

Health coaching services are generally not covered by insurance. However, many clients use Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) to cover eligible expenses. We can provide detailed receipts and documentation to support your reimbursement claims.

Are sessions conducted in person or virtually?

All coaching sessions are conducted virtually via Zoom, which means you can work with Ron from anywhere in the country. This format has proven highly effective and offers the convenience of meeting from your home or office without travel time.

How often will I meet with Ron?

The frequency of sessions depends on your program level and where you are in your health journey. Most clients begin with more frequent check-ins (every 2–3 weeks) during the initial protocol phase, then transition to monthly maintenance sessions as their health stabilizes. Ron is also available between sessions for questions and protocol adjustments.

Health & Safety

Is this a replacement for my regular doctor?

Absolutely not. Precision Wellness is designed to complement, not replace, your relationship with your licensed healthcare providers. Ron works alongside your medical team and encourages open communication with your doctor. For any medical conditions, diagnoses, or prescription medications, you should always consult with your licensed physician.

I have a chronic health condition. Can I still work with you?

Many of our clients have existing chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, or thyroid disorders. Ron is experienced in working with these populations and will tailor protocols appropriately. However, he will always defer to your medical team on matters of diagnosis and prescription management, and will coordinate with your physicians as needed.

What if I'm already taking prescription medications?

Ron will review all current medications as part of your initial assessment. Many functional health interventions can complement medication management, and some clients find that as their metabolic health improves, their prescribing physicians are able to reduce or adjust their medications. Any changes to prescription medications must be made by your licensed physician — never independently.

Still Have Questions?

The best way to get your questions answered is to speak directly with Ron. Book your free discovery call — no obligation, no pressure.
